About the position

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Career Transition Specialist for the Warriors to Work Program is responsible for providing career transition guidance to veterans, helping them secure gainful employment and meaningful career opportunities. This role focuses on empowering warriors and their families to achieve long-term financial security through effective career development services, including resume building, interview preparation, and job placement support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide career development services to warriors and their family members, including resume and cover letter building, effective interviewing skills, and job placement assistance.
  • Help warriors translate their military skills into civilian job qualifications and establish a personal brand for employment.
  • Connect employers with qualified candidates and develop relationships with local employers to ensure responsive service delivery.
  • Educate employers about service-connected injuries and military skills translation to facilitate veteran hiring.
  • Develop and host employment workshops for warriors, covering topics such as career guidance and skills development.
  • Conduct online training and presentations as needed to support career transition efforts.
  • Collaborate with WWP program teammates to raise awareness of the Warriors to Work programs and services.
  • Establish professional relationships with employers, veteran service organizations, and community organizations to enhance service delivery.
  • Track and report career-related interactions and outcomes using Salesforce, ensuring effective follow-up with employers and warriors post-placement.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in full-cycle recruiting, job development, or career coaching.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three years of experience working with or supporting military or veteran populations.
  • Three years of recruitment experience in a corporate environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business management.
  • Professional certification in human resources, e.g., PHR.
