About the position

Care United Home Care Agency LLC is seeking compassionate and competent Caregivers to provide professional care to clients in Kendallville, IN. This part-time position involves assisting individuals who are ill, injured, disabled, or elderly, ensuring their comfort and well-being through various caregiving tasks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a patient demeanor, capable of following care plans and accommodating clients' needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and exercise.
  • Basic food preparation: preparing meals, shopping, housekeeping, laundry, and other errands.
  • General health care: overseeing medication and prescriptions usage, appointment reminders, and administering medicine.
  • Mobility assistance: helping clients get in and out of a wheelchair, car, or shower.
  • Personal supervision: providing constant companionship and general supervision.
  • Transportation: driving clients to and from activities and running errands.
  • Emotional support: being a stable companion and supporter in personal and health-related matters.
  • Care for the elderly: assisting individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia and relaying information from doctors to family members.
  • Backup care (or respite) services: providing other caregivers a break.
  • Home organization: helping with organizing, packing, or cleaning for trips, or general house care and cleaning.
  • Health monitoring: following care plans and noticing any changes in clients' health, recording and reporting differences.
  • Helping clients with their pets (optional).

Requirements

  • Desire to be a caregiver (no experience necessary).
  • Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid (CPR) (optional).
  • Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
  • Respectful and compassionate demeanor.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ethics.
  • Physical endurance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with car insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in caregiving (1 year preferred).
