About the position

The Caregiver position at Home Instead involves providing compassionate care and companionship to senior clients. The role is focused on assisting seniors with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and enhancing their quality of life through engaging interactions and support. Caregivers will work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and early evenings, to meet the needs of clients in the Covina, CA area.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation to clients
• Assist with mobility and transfers
• Prepare meals and provide medication reminders
• Support clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
• Perform light housekeeping duties
• Occasionally transport clients for errands or appointments
• Deliver specialized care for chronic conditions, memory care, and bed-bound clients

Requirements

• Must be at least 20 years of age
• At least 1 year of caregiving experience
• Valid driver's license and personal vehicle with insurance
• Ability to speak, read, and write English at a high school level
• Must pass a negative TB test
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, DMV check, and drug screen
• Ability to lift 25 pounds
