About the position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) at ResCare Community Living is responsible for providing compassionate care to clients in a group home or home-like setting. This role is essential in fostering positive relationships, ensuring client safety, and encouraging self-help activities, making the DSP a vital part of the company's mission to support individuals in their daily lives.

Responsibilities

• Performing personal care tasks, including feeding, ambulation, and medical monitoring.
• Assisting with fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates.
• Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment.
• Encouraging self-help activities.
• Accompanying clients to scheduled appointments.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work in a group home, home-like setting.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in caregiving or direct support roles.
• First aid and CPR certification.
