There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.
The Caregiver for Special Needs position is a part-time role focused on providing care for an adult client with non-verbal autism and epilepsy, who may exhibit challenging behaviors, including occasional aggression. This position is specifically for female caregivers due to the client's disability needs and behavioral issues. The caregiver will work primarily on weekends, specifically Saturdays and Sundays from 3 PM to 11 PM, ensuring the client’s safety and well-being during these hours. The caregiver will be part of a team, typically working alongside another caregiver, to provide eyes-on supervision and engage the client in various activities. Key responsibilities include preparing meals, assisting with personal hygiene, and being ready to provide seizure first aid when necessary. The caregiver will need to observe the client closely to ensure their safety, especially during recreational or medical outings. Documentation of events and any incidents that occur during the shift is also required, necessitating the use of a smartphone for journal entries. The role may involve some overtime during unforeseen circumstances, and the caregiver must be prepared to work 1:1 with the client during emergencies. Physical demands of the job include the ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, perform repetitive motions, and stand or walk for extended periods. The ideal candidate will be reliable, punctual, and possess the necessary certifications, including CPR and First Aid. Experience working with individuals with autism, challenging behaviors, and epilepsy is preferred, as is a background check clearance through Live Scan (FBI/DOJ).
