About the position
The Caregiver position at Right at Home involves providing essential personal care and support to seniors and adults with disabilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting them with daily living activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. Caregivers will work in a flexible environment, with opportunities for both part-time and full-time schedules, and will be equipped with necessary protective equipment to perform their duties effectively.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including transferring/moving clients throughout their home.
- Perform housekeeping activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
- Prepare meals and snacks according to client instructions.
- Accompany clients on errands or medical appointments.
- Assist clients with bathing, showering, dressing, and shaving.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with prescribed range of motion exercises.
- Offer companionship activities such as reading, music, and puzzles.
Requirements
- One year of personal or professional caregiving experience.
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
- Ability to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance.
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
- Pass a background check.
- CNA, Home Health Aide, or Personal Care Aide certification preferred but not required.
