About the position
The Caregiver position at Assisting Hands involves providing essential support to a veteran in the community, focusing on improving their quality of life through assistance with daily living activities. This role requires compassion and skill in caregiving, particularly in catheter care and the use of a Hoyer lift, while also offering companionship and supervision.
Responsibilities
- Provide full care for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, toileting, and grooming.
- Assist with catheter care and transfer assistance using a Hoyer lift.
- Help with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and laundry.
- Offer supervision and companionship to the client.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Available to work holidays.
- Registered with The Home Care Aid Registry.
- CPR and First Aid Certification required.
- Negative TB Test required.
- Orientation and Training provided, paid by Assisting Hands.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience providing catheter care.
- Experience using a Hoyer lift.
- Reliable transportation to arrive promptly at the client's home.
