About the position

The Caregiver/Medication Aide position at The View At Pine Ridge involves providing essential assistance and support to seniors in need of care. This role is focused on enhancing the quality of life for clients through compassionate care, medication administration, and support with daily activities. Caregivers will engage with clients, monitor their health, and ensure their comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Administer medications according to prescribed schedules
• Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
• Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations with clients
• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, vacuuming, and tidying up living spaces
• Accompany clients to appointments or social outings as needed
• Provide support for individuals with memory care needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
• Lift and transfer clients safely using proper techniques and assistive devices

Requirements

• Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial
• Experience in memory care is advantageous
• Compassionate and empathetic nature
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients and their families
• Patience and understanding when working with individuals who may have cognitive impairments or challenging behaviors
• Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require lifting or assisting with mobility
