About the position

The Caregiver position at Avalon focuses on providing compassionate and individualized care to residents, particularly those with memory care needs. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents by assisting them with daily activities and ensuring a clean and safe living environment. Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and restroom assistance.
• Implementing and supporting resident care plans.
• Assisting residents in transferring from one place to another (e.g., bed to wheelchair).
• Maintaining a clean home for residents, including cleaning bedrooms, kitchen, and laundry according to schedule.
• Providing medication assistance by reminding residents to take their medications, helping them open their medication, and observing that they took their medication.
• Adhering to the Alcohol and Drug Free workplace policy.
• Performing other duties as required.

Requirements

• Must possess patience and understanding to care for residents with dementia.
• Display a positive attitude and have an outgoing personality.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Willingness to take initiative and react to potential crises in a home for dementia sufferers.
• Take pride in work and be a good communicator.
• Must clear a criminal background check.
• Documentation of immunizations required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate.
• Experience with seniors is preferred.
• CNA certification is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50 pounds.
