About the position
In-Home Care Connection is seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to provide hospice support in Lomita, CA. This role is essential in ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of care and comfort during their time of need. The caregiver will be responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. This position requires flexibility and the ability to work night shifts, as the caregiver will be scheduled for specific overnight shifts throughout the week. The caregiver will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver personalized care tailored to each client's unique needs. This role is not only about providing physical assistance but also about being a source of comfort and companionship for those in hospice care.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients and their families.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health and well-being to the healthcare team.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical equipment as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of caregiving experience, preferably in hospice or home care settings.
- Ability to work night shifts, specifically Friday 9pm-7am, Saturday 7pm-7am, and Sunday 7pm-7am.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and their families.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a strong commitment to providing quality care.
Nice-to-haves
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Experience with hospice care or working with terminally ill patients.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures.
