About the position

The Companion Caregiver provides essential services to patients and clients in their homes, focusing on 'hands-off' care. This role is crucial in promoting the well-being and safety of clients by encouraging socialization, mild exercise, and medication compliance through timely reminders. Caregivers are responsible for supervising clients during bathing, toileting, and dressing, ensuring their safety at all times. Additionally, caregivers assist with grocery shopping and perform light housekeeping chores to maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. The provision of these services is contingent upon the licensing requirements of each state, ensuring that caregivers operate within legal and professional boundaries. Essential duties include arriving at the client's home punctually, completing all assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner, and maintaining confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA standards. Caregivers must observe appropriate infection control procedures, including universal precautions, to safeguard the health of clients. They are also required to notify the office of any abnormal findings or conditions observed during their care. Effective communication with office staff regarding availability and compliance with time and attendance policies is vital. Caregivers represent the company positively and must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of clients and facilities. Responsibilities

  • Provides 'hands off' care such as encouraging socialization and mild exercise programs.
  • Encourages medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications.
  • Supervises the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing.
  • Assists with grocery shopping and performs light housekeeping chores.
  • Arrives at the client's home on time and leaves when the shift schedule is complete.
  • Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all client information in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures.
  • Notifies the office of any abnormal findings or conditions.
  • Adheres to standards and procedures of the Company.
  • Represents the Company with a positive image at all times.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of all facilities.
  • Effectively communicates with the office staff regarding availability to work.
  • Adheres to time and attendance policies.
  • Provides requirements-related information in a timely fashion.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred.
  • Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred.
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills preferred.
  • Proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
