About the position

As a Companion Caregiver, you will be responsible for delivering 'hands-off' care, which includes encouraging socialization, assisting with mild exercise programs, and ensuring medication compliance through timely reminders. You will also supervise the safety of clients during bathing, toileting, and dressing, as well as assist with grocery shopping and perform light housekeeping chores. This position requires a compassionate nature and strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and their families. In addition to providing care, you will be expected to arrive at the client's home on time and complete your shift as scheduled. It is essential to perform all duties accurately and in a timely manner while safeguarding the client by observing appropriate infection control procedures, including universal precautions. Responsibilities

• Provides 'hands off' care such as encouraging socialization and mild exercise programs.
• Encourages medication compliance through timely reminders to take medications.
• Supervises the safety of the patient/client when bathing, toileting, and dressing.
• Assists with grocery shopping and performs light housekeeping chores.
• Arrives at the client's home on time and leaves when the shift schedule is complete.
• Performs all duties in an accurate and timely manner.
• Safeguards the client/patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One (1) year of experience as a Companion Care Homemaker/Companion Care Provider preferred.
• Ability to carry out tasks in a professional manner and adhere to policies regarding professionalism and boundaries preferred.
• Must demonstrate a compassionate nature and possess strong interpersonal skills preferred.
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills preferred.
• Proficiency in the English language is required.
• Computer proficiency required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR is preferred.
