About the position

The Caregiver/Personal Assistant role involves providing personal care and support to clients in their homes. The position requires a compassionate individual who can follow established procedures and maintain a clean and safe environment for clients. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule and is essential for ensuring the well-being of clients who require assistance with daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective personal care to the assigned clients.
• Follow Universal Precautions and wash hands before and after the care of each client.
• Complete all work assignments and turn in time sheets as required by Agency policy.
• Understand and adhere to established policies and procedures of the Agency.
• Adhere to Agency standards and consistently interpret and accurately perform all assigned responsibilities.
• Maintain acceptable attendance status.
• Report incomplete work assignments to the Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance.
• Attend all mandatory in-service programs as scheduled.
• Maintain a clean and neat work environment.
• Demonstrate sound judgment and decision making.
• Coordinate care with the Supervisor and report changes in the client's condition.
• Participate in the Agency's PI meetings.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age and demonstrate competency to perform the tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
• If under 18, must be a high school graduate or enrolled in a vocational education program and demonstrate competency.
• Have a sympathetic attitude towards the care of the sick.
• Be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Be able to carry out directions.
• Show a high level of maturity and be able to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
• Not be listed in the Employee Misconduct Registry or the Nurse Aide Registry.
• Not have been convicted of an unemployable felony or misdemeanor during a Criminal History Check.
