About the position

As a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Right at Home, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. In this role, you will engage in various activities that promote the well-being of our clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. You will also assist with medication reminders, prescribed exercises, and mobility support. Your responsibilities will extend to performing light housekeeping tasks, preparing meals, and providing companionship through activities such as reading and puzzles. Our team is dedicated to providing ongoing training and support, ensuring you have the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in your role. Responsibilities

  • Bathing/Showering/Dressing/Shaving
  • Medication reminders
  • Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
  • Assisting with transferring/moving client from place to place throughout their home
  • Dementia care
  • Performing housekeeping activities such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom
  • Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
  • Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments
  • Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.

Requirements

  • High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
  • Six months experience as a Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities)
  • Successful completion of a State approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide (HHA) and/or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) course
  • Current CPR Certificate is recommended
  • Read, write, speak and understand English
  • Have a valid driver's license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation
