About the position

The Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant will provide essential personal care and support to an individual with muscular dystrophy in a private household. This part-time position focuses on assisting with daily living activities, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and care for a service dog. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting and mobility support.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care and grooming
• Prepare meals according to dietary needs
• Perform light housekeeping tasks
• Care for a trained service dog
• Provide transportation in a wheelchair accessible van for errands and outings
• Ensure the safety and comfort of the client during care
• Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the client's needs

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid Driver's License preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in caregiving preferred (1 year)
• Ability to lift, push, or turn about 25 lbs
• Moderate level of stamina required
• Must be vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19
• Must pass a criminal background check
