A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is needed for a vibrant and determined young lady living with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy. This individual is non-verbal but possesses a high level of intelligence. The PCA will assist her with daily living tasks such as toileting, bathing, dressing, and light housekeeping tasks including grocery shopping, laundry, and vacuuming. Due to her condition, her arms and legs do not function well enough for her to accomplish these tasks independently. As a PCA, you will play a crucial role in providing the necessary assistance to help her lead a productive and successful life. No medical background is required for this position, as hands-on training will be provided. However, some physical strength is necessary to assist the client with transfers. The client is highly motivated and relies on PCAs for support. This role is an excellent opportunity for students or individuals looking to gain experience in the healthcare or disability-related fields. The position is part-time, with two shifts available each day: a morning shift from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and an evening shift from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Scheduling is flexible and based on your availability. The client is part of the IRIS (I Respect, I Self-Direct) program through the State of Wisconsin. The pay rate ranges from $17.00 per hour for Supportive Home Care to $17.98 per hour for Personal Care. Applicants must pass a background check through the state of Wisconsin, and while a vehicle is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended.
