About the position

Nurse Next Door is seeking dedicated Personal Care Assistants/Caregivers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of seniors. This role is centered around providing compassionate care and support to elderly clients, enabling them to live comfortably and safely in their own homes. As a caregiver, you will be at the forefront of our mission to deliver flexible, premium care options that prioritize the well-being of our clients. We believe that home is the safest place for seniors, and our caregivers play a crucial role in ensuring that they can remain in their homes while receiving the care they need. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work flexible hours ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week, with shifts available in the morning, afternoon, evenings, and overnight. Your responsibilities will include meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and personal care. You will execute care plans designed by our Care Designers, assist clients with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and ensure their safety by using equipment properly. It is essential to function within your own experience and knowledge while practicing safely and competently. Responsibilities

  • Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship to clients.
  • Execute the client's care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.
  • Assist clients with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) within the scope of practice for a Personal Care Assistant (PCA).
  • Help clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises.
  • Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly.
  • Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • CPR Certification.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray.
  • Health Clearance/Physical Exam.
  • Reliable smartphone is a requirement.
  • Criminal background check clearance.
  • Driver's license, valid auto insurance, reliable car, clean driving record.
  • Empathy for the needs of the client and personal qualities to understand the problems of elderly persons and persons with disabilities.
  • Ability to express oral and written communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

  • PCA / Caregiver Training Certification (not required).
  • One (1) year of documented experience preferred.
