About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals in need of care. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients. This position requires a strong sense of empathy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various responsibilities with professionalism and compassion. You will be responsible for providing personal care and assistance to clients, which includes bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Additionally, you will assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients while monitoring and reporting any changes in their condition or behavior. Your role will also involve assisting with meal preparation and feeding, performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning and organizing the client's living space, and providing companionship and emotional support. You may accompany clients to appointments or social outings as needed and will be responsible for maintaining documentation of the client's care and activities. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and possesses the necessary skills and qualifications to provide compassionate care while maintaining the dignity and privacy of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring the safety and comfort of clients.
  • Monitor and report any changes in client's condition or behavior.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning and organizing client's living space.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Accompany clients to appointments or social outings as needed.
  • Maintain documentation of client's care and activities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in senior care is preferred.
  • Knowledge of resident rights and regulations related to personal care services.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining client's dignity and privacy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate client's needs.
  • Valid driver's license with a reliable mode of transportation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in providing personal care services such as bathing, dressing, grooming, etc. (ADLs).
  • Knowledge of meal preparation.
