About the position
The Caregiver position at Home Instead involves providing personal care and support to clients in their homes. The role is flexible, allowing for various shifts including mornings, evenings, and overnights, and is designed for individuals who are compassionate and dedicated to improving the quality of life for those in need of assistance. The position requires a valid Home Care Aide Certification and at least six months of caregiving experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with transfers and ambulation using Hoyer lift
- Monitor fall risks and provide incontinence care
- Support advanced personal hygiene needs including bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Provide dementia and memory care
- Administer medication reminders and assist with meal preparation
- Perform light housekeeping duties and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Offer stand-by assistance and occasional transportation for errands and appointments
Requirements
- Valid Home Care Aide Certification in the State of California
- Minimum of 6 months of caregiving experience
- 2+ years of working history with the same company
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and overnights
