Caregiver / Resident Aide

About the position

The Caregiver/Resident Aide position involves supervising and assisting residents with personal care services, including medication management and daily living activities. The role is essential in ensuring the cleanliness, dignity, and well-being of each resident, while also providing companionship and support in various activities throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Supervise or assist residents with personal care services including self-administered medication management.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Provide physical assistance or standby supervision as needed.
• Report any changes in residents' conditions to the designated charge person immediately.
• Assist with the self-administration of medication, including opening containers and reading labels to residents.
• Supervise and assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting activities.
• Escort residents to meals and activities as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and dignity of each resident during care activities.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Maintain a criminal record clearance.
• Obtain a current negative T.B. test.
• Must be certified as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Demonstrate effective time management skills.
• Read, write, and understand English.
