About the position
The Caregiver position at San Dimas Retirement Center involves providing compassionate and professional care to residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The role requires assisting with daily activities and personal care, while also being a supportive companion to clients, particularly those with dementia or in memory care units.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the facility (to activities, to dining room, walks etc.)
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
- Assist feeding and bathing residents
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own
- Provide increased assistance to residents with dementia or in memory care unit
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion
- Report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Requirements
- Vaccinated against Covid-19 including Booster and present proof
- Flexible schedule & Full-Time availability
- Must clear Live Scan background check
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Authorized to work in the United States
Nice-to-haves
- Experience as a caregiver preferred but not required
- Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid and CPR
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and dietary constraints
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
- Respectful and compassionate
- Good time management skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
