About the position
The Caregiver/Direct Support Professional at Sevita plays a crucial role in providing community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position focuses on helping participants grow, learn, and live fulfilling lives while fostering meaningful relationships. Caregivers are entrusted with supporting individuals in achieving their developmental goals and assisting with personal hygiene, all while being part of a mission-driven team.
Responsibilities
- Help individuals grow, learn, and live well.
- Support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, mental illness, and behavioral challenges.
- Develop meaningful relationships with the individuals served.
- Encourage participants to engage in community activities and their favorite pastimes.
- Assist participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
- Provide personal hygiene assistance and support for individuals with behavioral challenges.
Requirements
- No High School Diploma required.
- No prior experience required.
- Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
