About the position

The Caregiver position at Seniors Helping Seniors® Treasure Valley involves providing compassionate in-home care to seniors, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life. Caregivers, who are seniors themselves, assist with daily tasks and offer companionship, ensuring a supportive and friendly environment for the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship to seniors
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and washing dishes
• Help with shopping and running errands
• Prepare meals and provide medication reminders
• Care for pets and assist with light yard work
• Perform light handyman services as needed
• Supervise overnight care when required
• Provide incidental transportation to appointments and outings
• Assist clients with personal care tasks including dressing, feeding, bathing, and toileting
• Maintain documentation of services provided and report any changes in clients' conditions
• Communicate regularly with office staff and participate in training opportunities

Requirements

• Must be an older adult with 40+ years of life experience
• Enjoy working with the senior population
• Demonstrate caring, empathy, compassion, and reliability
• Understand the importance of services provided to seniors
• Maintain a positive attitude and dedication to the mission of Seniors Helping Seniors®
• Possess a high level of emotional intelligence
• Ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions
