About the position

The Caregiver position involves providing essential support to residents in assisted living or nursing home settings. The role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the well-being of residents, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Caregivers are expected to engage with residents socially and provide companionship, contributing to their emotional health.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Administer medication reminders according to prescribed schedules and document medication administration accurately.
• Prepare and serve meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
• Assist residents with mobility and transfers, including the use of mobility aids and lifting equipment.
• Monitor and report changes in residents' physical and mental health to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including regular housekeeping tasks.
• Engage in social activities and provide companionship to promote emotional well-being.

Requirements

• Previous experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of resident rights and ability to advocate for their needs.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Compassionate, patient, and understanding approach towards elderly individuals.
• Basic knowledge of medication administration procedures and protocols.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
