About the position
As a Caregiver at StoryPoint Chesterfield, you will provide compassionate and personalized assistance to residents in our community, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect. This role involves direct interaction with elderly residents, supporting their daily activities and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Uphold timely and accountable attendance by adhering to work schedules and being ready to start work on time.
- Provide care for residents according to the 1440 care standards, ensuring their needs are met.
- Communicate any changes in resident needs or care to the Wellness Leader immediately.
- Maintain responsible communication with residents' families, ensuring messages are conveyed tactfully and understood.
- Build strong relationships within the community, including with peers, families, and residents.
- Complete daily and weekly tasks as assigned by the Wellness Coordinator, assisting others as needed.
- Provide compassionate care, including bathing, grooming, dining assistance, and toileting support.
- Assist residents with mobility, including wheelchair and walking escorts.
- Perform light upkeep of resident rooms and answer resident call signals.
- Administer medication and provide personal care as required.
- Care for resident pets, including feeding and bathroom needs.
- Document appropriate records and maintain knowledge of safety and emergency procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare, geriatrics, or working with the elderly population preferred.
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) Certification preferred.
- Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Occasional ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
