About the position

Touching Hearts at Home Birmingham is actively seeking dedicated in-home caregivers, private duty aides, and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to provide essential direct care for our clients. In light of the recent health crisis, many elderly individuals and families are opting to remain in their homes, necessitating the need for compassionate and reliable care. Our caregivers play a crucial role in delivering quality care and companionship to these clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being in a familiar environment. We currently have immediate openings for caregivers in the Birmingham area, and we invite you to join our family and make a difference in the lives of those we serve. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and companionship to clients in their homes.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication reminders.
  • Monitor and record vital signs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and their families regarding care needs and preferences.
  • Assist with light housekeeping and laundry tasks as required.
  • Support clients in maintaining their independence and dignity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation necessary.
  • Experience in caregiving or personal assistance preferred (1 year).
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide compassionate and patient care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with meal preparation and cooking.
  • Administrative experience in a caregiving or healthcare setting.
