About the position

The CarelonRx Account Manager II plays a crucial role in ensuring client retention and operational excellence within a complex book of business that supports pharmacy services. This position is designed for individuals who can effectively cultivate and build relationships with key decision-makers, including brokers, consultants, and clients, through high-quality service. The Account Manager will influence and collaborate with internal partners to deliver best-in-class service, which includes resolving operational issues, conducting root cause analysis, and driving recovery efforts that directly impact account retention and growth. In this role, the Account Manager is responsible for executing client-specific operational deliverables, which encompass benefit setup, reporting, and project support as needed. The position requires leveraging data to track account performance, identify trends, and provide input and recommendations on strategies for client growth and retention. A comprehensive understanding of all Rx products and solutions is essential, as the Account Manager will also support the implementation for new and existing clients, as well as contract renewals. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote work with in-office responsibilities, and must reside within 50 miles of an Elevance Health PulsePoint location. This role is pivotal in maintaining the operational integrity of pharmacy services and ensuring that client expectations are not only met but exceeded, thereby contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivates and builds relationships with broker/consultant/client key decision makers through quality service.
  • Influences and collaborates with internal partners to deliver best-in-class service, resolving operational issues and driving recovery efforts.
  • Executes client-specific operational deliverables including benefit setup, reporting, and project support as needed.
  • Leverages data to track account performance and identify trends/opportunities for client growth and retention strategies.
  • Responsible for operational understanding of all Rx products and solutions.
  • Supports implementation for new/existing clients and contract renewals.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 2 years of related experience in account management, sales, or managing business/client relationships.
  • Proven health insurance plans account management and client retention experience, particularly in Pharmacy sales and/or Pharmacy Benefit Management.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, organization, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts towards common goals.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills, with strong executive presence and negotiation skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of Salesforce and/or claims operating systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in health insurance plans account management and client retention in Pharmacy sales and/or Pharmacy Benefit Management.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
