About the position

The Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant Manager / Head Softball Coach is responsible for overseeing the management and implementation of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant at Robeson Community College. This dual role includes coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with grant requirements, managing the college's CTE budget, and serving as the head coach for the softball team, which involves recruiting, organizing practices, and ensuring student-athlete academic progress.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Conduct the annual Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) process by gathering input from stakeholders.
  • Develop and update the college's CTE budget, monitoring spending and reporting on grant activities.
  • Compile necessary data and reports for programmatic and financial needs.
  • Monitor performance levels and provide technical assistance for continuous improvement.
  • Establish and coordinate a Perkins team to strengthen CTE programs and oversee grant implementation.
  • Promote services and pathways that integrate employability skills and link secondary and postsecondary education for CTE students.
  • Collaborate with the college's Business Office to ensure compliance with budgetary requirements.
  • Support the development of 9-14 pathways in collaboration with high school partners and industry.
  • Attend required Perkins training and professional development events.
  • Participate in institutional planning processes as requested by the President.
  • Research strategic business activities related to the grant.
  • Organize procedures for implementing policies related to the grant.
  • Direct the work of staff assigned to the grant and develop training schedules for personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with performance standards and fiscal management policies.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the softball program, including coaching, recruiting, and scheduling matches.
  • Monitor student-athlete academic progress and ensure compliance with recruiting rules.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget for the athletic program and coordinate travel for players and coaches.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Familiarity with NJCAA regulations and compliance is required.
  • Experience in coaching at the collegiate level is preferred.
  • Experience in grant writing or sponsored program work in a public or private setting is preferred.
