About the position

The Process Maintenance Electrician (Tech 4 or Higher) at Nevada Gold Mines is responsible for performing electrical repairs, installations, inspections, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems and equipment throughout the plant. This role requires compliance with safety regulations and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The electrician will also engage in troubleshooting and repair of various electrical systems, including motors, PLCs, and VFDs, while maintaining accurate documentation and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repairs, installations, inspections, and preventive maintenance of electrical lines, machinery, and equipment throughout the plant.
• Comply with State and Federal safety and environmental regulations and Newmont policies and procedures.
• Perform all Technician 3 duties proficiently.
• Create and research existing work orders in Ellipse and interpret instrumentation data sheets, schematics, P&IDs, blueprints, and instructional guides.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint) and use Ellipse to procure parts from the warehouse.
• Read, comprehend, and interpret the National Electric Code and install and maintain electrical equipment according to this guideline.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including basic wiring, circuit installation, cables, and switch gear up to 15 KV.
• Demonstrate general knowledge and theory of operation for PLCs and troubleshoot associated components.
• Demonstrate general knowledge and theory of VFDs and troubleshoot associated components.
• Possess basic motor knowledge to troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and install electric motors.
• Effectively troubleshoot and repair process instruments and maintain accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Proficiency in all required areas (internal) or equivalent experience (external).
• Ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days.
