About the position

Robins & Morton is seeking a dedicated Carpenter to join our team in Lake City, FL. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for construction and a desire to work collaboratively in a supportive environment. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining both permanent and temporary structures using a variety of hand and power tools. You will work under the guidance of a jobsite manager, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. In this role, you will engage in a variety of tasks that include accurately taking off material quantities, building structures that are square, level, and plumb, and implementing safety provisions such as scaffolding and fall protection. You will also be responsible for installing interior finish items, which may include wall protection, doors and hardware, and other essential components. The use of various carpentry tools, including saws and drills, is a critical part of your daily responsibilities, and you will need to identify and request any personal protective equipment (PPE) necessary for your tasks. Responsibilities

  • Accurately take off material quantities for projects.
  • Build structures that are square, level, and plumb using basic carpentry tools.
  • Implement safety provisions including scaffolding, gang ladders, and fall protection.
  • Install interior finish items such as wall protection, doors, and hardware.
  • Safely use various carpentry tools including saws and drills.
  • Identify and request necessary PPE before starting tasks.
  • Operate basic equipment such as forklifts and skid steers.
  • Cut and install wood and metal backing as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in carpentry required.
  • Experience in hospital construction preferred.
  • 2-5 years' experience installing building specialties, cabinets, windows, and commercial doors.
  • NCCER Training/Certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in healthcare construction.
  • Familiarity with Division 10 items.
