About the position

The Carpenter - Journeyman position at Loenbro involves working on a heavy industrial construction worksite in Billings, MT. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with job foremen to complete various projects under contract, ensuring that all tasks are executed within the projected deadlines and budget constraints. This role requires a strong commitment to teamwork and the ability to communicate effectively with other professionals in the field. The carpenter will be responsible for constructing, fabricating, installing, and dismantling formwork and fixtures made of metal, wood, and other materials. Additionally, the candidate must be adept at reading and interpreting blueprints and instructions, documenting work activities, and performing tasks independently as needed. The position also entails a variety of physical demands, including climbing stairs and ladders, lifting equipment and materials, and working in confined spaces. The carpenter will be exposed to various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures and noise levels above 85 decibels. Safety is paramount, and the candidate must be willing to adhere to all safety protocols, including passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to supervise and work alongside other carpenters to achieve company goals. Overall, this position is integral to the successful execution of construction projects and the maintenance of high standards in quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Constructing, fabricating, installing and dismantling form work of fixtures of metal, wood, and other accessories
  • Reading and interpreting instructions and blueprints
  • Documenting, planning, and performing work activities independently
  • Performing all other job duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2 years of carpentry experience in an industrial setting
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial construction practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and adherence to applicable building codes
  • Proficient at reading blueprints
  • Ability to clearly explain steps and provide clear directions
  • Ability to utilize time wisely to supervise and work alongside other carpenters
  • Ability to complete and fulfill paperwork required for purchase orders, time sheets, etc.
  • Willingness to embrace the company's core values
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
