The position involves constructing and repairing structural woodwork and equipment primarily in yards, as well as in industrial and commercial properties. The individual will utilize a range of tools such as chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to effectively repair and erect structures. This position is suited for someone with intermediate experience in the field, who is capable of following detailed instructions and communicating effectively with management and supervision. The work environment is dynamic and can be physically demanding, requiring the individual to be mobile across construction and industrial sites. Responsibilities
- Construct and repair structural woodwork and equipment in the yard, industrial and commercial property
- Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall
- Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures
Requirements
- Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Ability to work in a construction environment and be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
- Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
- Ability to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet)
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Ability to move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
- Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
- Must have required tools
- Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical and background check
