About the position

Tessco is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Director for its Carrier Field Sales Team. This position is pivotal in managing a team of 5-7 sales representatives who are strategically located across the country to support various territories. The Sales Director will report directly to the Vice President of USA Carrier Sales and will play a crucial role in driving sales performance and achieving business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the sales process and executing go-to-market campaigns, ensuring that the sales team is well-equipped to meet the demands of the market. This role is eligible for a remote work schedule, providing flexibility while maintaining a strong focus on team management and sales strategy execution. In this position, the Sales Director will actively engage in key strategic opportunities, fostering relationships with both customers and manufacturers to drive business growth. The role requires a hands-on approach to developing, training, and managing the sales team, ensuring that each member is aligned with the company's sales goals and objectives. The Sales Director will be tasked with building and managing a robust sales pipeline, setting clear sales goals and quotas for team members, and accurately forecasting sales performance. Additionally, the role involves managing complex strategic sales alongside day-to-day transactional business, identifying and removing obstacles that may hinder the team's success, and tracking key metrics to ensure the team is focused on the right activities for optimal performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of sales executives calling on the ecosystem of carrier accounts within their territories (T1 & T2/3 Carriers, General Contractors & DAS integrators)
  • Execute the sales process and go-to-market campaigns by leading, developing, training, and managing the sales individuals on the team
  • Actively get involved in key strategic opportunities to ensure success
  • Develop key strategic customer and manufacturer relationships to drive business
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Set sales goals and quotas for team members
  • Accurately forecast team sales
  • Manage both complex strategic sales as well as day to day run rate transactional business
  • Identify and remove roadblocks that impede the team from selling
  • Identify and manage key metrics that ensure your sales team is focused on the right activities to ensure success

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the telecommunications or technology sector
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a sales team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and manufacturers
  • Ability to analyze sales data and forecast accurately
  • Experience in managing complex sales processes and strategic accounts
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and remove obstacles to sales success

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with carrier accounts and knowledge of the telecommunications industry
  • Familiarity with sales pipeline management tools and CRM software
  • Previous experience in a remote work environment
