About the position
The Carrier Safety Analyst will join Amazon's NA Surface Transportation Safety & Compliance team, focusing on safety and compliance in road transport. This role involves conducting crash investigations, analyzing data, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accident investigation and a passion for improving safety processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct crash investigations to verify details and determine causes.
- Compile crash data to recommend carrier actions within policies.
- Manage reporting processes for accuracy and timeliness.
- Respond to carrier inquiries regarding crashes or suspensions.
- Inspect motor vehicles and maintain compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Schedule and conduct inspections and investigations.
- Maintain detailed records and prepare reports related to inspections and investigations.
- Conduct safety audits, job hazard analysis, and risk assessments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office programs
- 1+ year in vendor relations experience
- Experience conducting over the road crash investigations
- Knowledge of motor carrier programs and enforcement regulations
- Skill in program management principles and practices
- Strong background in road transport accident investigation
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of SQL
- Experience working directly with FMCSA
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, including VBA
- Training in crash investigations
