About the position

As a Carrier Sales Engineer II at Spectrum Enterprise, you will support the sales of Layer 2 Ethernet services to wholesale Carrier accounts. This role involves evaluating client networks and providing cost-effective business solutions, while working closely with internal teams to develop unique service offerings. You will play a crucial role in educating and motivating clients to implement our services, ensuring their needs are met in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a needs assessment and status evaluation to identify client improvement areas.
  • Create technical and product presentations and network designs to inform clients.
  • Work with internal teams to develop unique service offerings for standard and nonstandard solutions.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data services to provide proof of concepts to other teams.
  • Develop strategic responses for RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
  • Research industry knowledge and emerging technology to improve product offerings.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of telecommunications networking or systems integrator experience.
  • Experience selling to tier one and tier two providers.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Skilled in data layer two networking communications, IP security strategies, VoIP/SIP, IP-VPN, DWDM, MPLS, VPLS, metro Ethernet, and LAN/WAN integration.
  • Familiar with complex layer two Ethernet networks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong troubleshooting, issue resolution, presentation, and English communication skills.
  • Ability to network across departments and with boundary partners.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five or more years of field experience in telecommunications pre-sales.
  • Experience with Mobile Backhaul is a plus.
  • Cisco, Juniper, ALU or MEF-CECP certification.
