About the position

The Cart Washer position at Recology is an entry-level role that involves the safe and efficient movement and washing of carts and containers within the fleet. This position is crucial for ensuring that the carts and containers are in optimal operational condition and maintain a clean appearance. Under close supervision, the Cart Washer will be responsible for efficiently repairing, cleaning, washing, and detailing all carts and containers, and occasionally trucks. The role requires notifying management of any major repairs needed and communicating any safety concerns that may arise during the cleaning process. In addition to washing and detailing, the Cart Washer will safely operate pressure washing equipment, backpack blowers, and other related tools. The position may also involve assisting with on-site trash cleanup and transporting cleaning supplies. The Cart Washer will be expected to identify, report, and address any damages or hazards related to the fleet, ensuring a safe working environment. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, making this a versatile role within the operations team. Responsibilities

  • Efficiently repair, clean, wash, and detail all carts and containers, and occasionally trucks.
  • Notify management of the need for major repairs and communicate any safety concerns.
  • Safely operate pressure washing equipment, backpack blowers, and other related equipment.
  • Occasionally assist with on-site trash cleanup.
  • Transport cleaning supplies and assist with incident response, such as oil spills, in the field.
  • Identify, report, and address any damages or hazards related to the fleet.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
  • Knowledge of job site safety principles, potential hazards, and state and local regulations, including general company operations.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required.
