About the position

The Junior Cartographer position at Hughes Exterminators involves collaborating with analysts to create and enhance cartographic products that support critical decision-making. The role requires a strong foundation in cartography and geographic information systems, with a focus on transforming complex data into clear visual representations. Candidates must possess a Top Secret/SCI security clearance and have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technology to design maps, graphics, illustrations, and layouts for Finished Intelligence (FINTEL) production.
• Analyze and evaluate cartographic information to determine the most appropriate data sources for FINTEL.
• Research, select, and evaluate map source data for use in the preparation or revision of maps and charts to various scales.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizen
• Active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application
• Minimum of three (3+) years of relevant and specialized professional experience in cartography
• Demonstrated proficiency in professional cartography tools such as ArcGIS Maps, Maya, ArcGIS CityEngine, ArcGIS Pro, ERDAS, RemoteView, ENVI, SOCET GXP, and ArcMap
• Knowledgeable of and ability to apply IC and DoD classification guidelines and procedures
• Experience with DoD and IC imagery assets
• Ability to evaluate and synthesize multiple sources of information
• Experience producing timely, logical, and concise cartographic products
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal
• Ability to research, evaluate, organize, and maintain information within security and data protocols
• Experience recognizing nuances and resolving contradictions in information
• Working knowledge of complex analytic methodologies to strengthen analytic arguments.

Nice-to-haves

• Completion of relevant Formal/Advanced Military Training or current GEOINT Professional Certification-Foundations (GPC-F)
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other interactive graphics tools
• In-depth knowledge of the intelligence production cycle and related technologies.
