About the position

The Cartographer position at ManTech International involves supporting the production of Digital Nautical Charts (DNC) and Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC) to enhance the quality and accuracy of maritime data. The role is integral to increasing production capacity and improving response times to customer requests, while working with a diverse team in a mission-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate sources of rasterized nautical charts, ENC, and digital hydrographic survey data to produce project packages.
• Compile or update maritime features and attributes for the DNC/ENC portfolio using ArcGIS based workstations.
• Extract features from various sources including nautical charts and orthorectified imagery.
• Write Python scripts in ArcGIS to enhance production efficiency.
• Perform data conversion and migration.

Requirements

• Three or more years of cartographic finishing and feature extraction experience.
• Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and PLTS.
• Ability to geo-rectify maps and charts.
• Familiarity with NGA Products and Services.
• Utilize geographic names information from the GNDB.
