About the position

The Cartography Project Specialist 1 role at Garmin involves managing small to medium cartography-related projects, coordinating between various internal and external groups, and overseeing product launch activities and maintenance releases. This position requires collaboration with multiple departments to ensure successful product development and lifecycle management of cartography products.

Responsibilities

• Own small to medium cartography-related projects.
• Coordinate between cartography and other internal or external groups.
• Monitor development progress and manage product launch activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, MarComm, IT, and operations for product development and lifecycle maintenance.
• Utilize independent judgment in organizing all aspects of Cartography Administration related to product releases.
• Call and manage part numbers based on the Garmin Part Numbering system.
• Create/manage bill of materials and execute Engineering Change Orders.
• Identify and ensure all required components for mapping and accessory releases are delivered on time.
• Analyze product packaging and marketing materials to meet contractual requirements for data vendors.
• Execute Garmin procedures for Cartography product development and release.
• Manage detailed product development schedules and report status.
• Initiate/update mapping product information for display on the Garmin website, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Analyze, review, and suggest edits to marketing materials for Cartography products.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound independent judgment.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and a self-starter with excellent follow-up skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
