About the position

The CASA Volunteer Supervisor (Part-Time) position is designed to support the CASA Program Coordinator in various administrative tasks, particularly focusing on the supervision and management of CASA volunteers. This role is crucial in ensuring that the CASA program operates smoothly and effectively, providing necessary support to volunteers who advocate for children in the court system. The supervisor will be responsible for recruiting and screening volunteers to maintain an adequate pool of advocates, assisting with the processing of volunteer applications, conducting criminal records checks, and scheduling interviews. This position also involves providing both pre-service and in-service training for volunteers, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles. In addition to training, the CASA Volunteer Supervisor will coordinate case assignments, reviewing new cases and matching them with appropriate volunteers in consultation with the Program Director. The supervisor will assist in the annual evaluation and update of the CASA Volunteer Training Curriculum and Training Manual, ensuring that all training materials are current and effective. This role requires the preparation and distribution of volunteer assignment documentation, as well as attending court hearings when possible to provide support and consultation for volunteers. The supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining program and volunteer files, ensuring confidentiality and protection of sensitive information, and collecting data from the CASA program to generate reports. The position may require attendance at relevant conferences, seminars, and meetings, and the supervisor will perform other related duties as necessary. This part-time role offers flexibility, with the expectation of working approximately 25 hours per week, including some weekend hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and screen volunteers on an ongoing basis to ensure a sufficient number of volunteers are available.
  • Assist CASA Program Coordinator with processing volunteer applications, criminal records checks, schedules, and conducting volunteer interviews.
  • Provide pre-service and in-service training for volunteers.
  • Coordinate case assignments and review new cases to assign appropriate volunteers in consultation with Program Director.
  • Assist Coordinator with annual evaluation and update of the CASA Volunteer Training Curriculum, Training Manual, and materials.
  • Prepare and distribute volunteer assignment documentation.
  • Attend court hearings when possible and track court dates; provide assistance and consultation for volunteers as needed.
  • Collect data from CASA program and generate reports.
  • Maintain appropriate program and volunteer files ensuring their confidentiality and protection.
  • Attend relevant conferences/seminars/meetings as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human services, social work, child development, psychology, sociology, education or juvenile justice or related field preferred.
  • Must possess a valid Georgia driver's license.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word and Access is highly desirable.
