About the position

The Case Aide/Administrative Technician role involves assisting in community supervision case management, providing supervision to offenders, and preparing probation administration documentation. The position requires maintaining case records, managing computer files, and supporting administrative duties related to court services. The role is performed under close supervision with limited independence, focusing on compliance with departmental policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing community supervision case management.
  • Provide supervision to offenders and prepare probation administration documentation.
  • Supervise cases classified as indirect 'other', transfer out, and/or 'mail in'.
  • Refer probationers requiring special services to appropriate agencies and monitor their progress.
  • Maintain case records required by the Court, the Director, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice - CJAD.
  • Manage and maintain computer case files and related records.
  • Carry out existing programs and any new programs established by the Court or the Director.
  • Monitor the collection of Court ordered fees and take appropriate action when necessary.
  • Support administrative duties in collaboration with Court Services.
  • Responsible for intake processing at Court and testify in Court related to case management as required.
  • Collect and maintain accurate financial records, create and update case records, and perform receptionist duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, equivalent or GED and some college hours from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Two years of full-time, wage-earning case management, office work, clerical or related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Valid Texas driver's license and proof of current liability insurance are mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain a certificate of Criminal Justice Practitioner Training Course completion for TLETS within one year of employment.
  • Pass a criminal background check and drug test.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of case management and related software preferred.
  • Customer service experience of at least 1 year is preferred.
