About the position

The Case Management Specialist at Compass Connections is responsible for providing crisis intervention and case management services to children and families. This role involves maintaining a caseload, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and engaging with families to assess their needs and provide appropriate support. The specialist will work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for clients, while also participating in professional development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.
  • Maintain a case load in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs, and other activities that promote professional growth and development.
  • Independently maintain a minimum number of weekly contacts with children and families.
  • Exercise independent discretion and judgment to assess ongoing changes in behavior, circumstances, or conditions affecting child safety.
  • Provide feedback, support, and consultation to crisis line staff to ensure appropriate responses to crisis calls.
  • Engage and involve children and their sponsors in the casework process.
  • Utilize professional judgment to assess and document progress toward risk reduction and service goals.
  • Compile, prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records and files in accordance with agency policies.
  • Participate in weekly case staffing with case managers and contracted staff.
  • Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested.
  • Implement safety protocols including evacuating with children in emergencies.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of service population and program operations.
  • Act as a liaison with stakeholders, including legal providers and immigration court.
  • Accept crisis calls and provide support to families in crisis.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings reviewing cases with clinical and management teams as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, sociology, or a related field from an accredited program/university.
  • Three years of related experience in crisis intervention and case management, or seven years of related experience without a degree.
  • Certifications in Integrated Case Management, First Aid, CPR, and Emergency Behavior Intervention.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate degree in social work, criminal justice, sociology, or a related field of study from an accredited program/university.
  • Experience working with immigrant populations and child welfare.
