The Case Manager Coordinator at El Paso Behavioral Health System is responsible for managing patient care by coordinating with external case managers and managed care organizations for insurance certification and recertification. This role involves advocating for patients' access to services, facilitating treatment team meetings, and ensuring compliance with insurance requirements throughout the patient's stay. The position requires a thorough understanding of patient treatment and effective communication with the treatment team.

Responsibilities

• Contact external case managers and managed care organizations for insurance certification and recertification.
• Assist the treatment team in understanding insurance requirements for continued stay and discharge planning.
• Advocate for patient access to services during treatment team meetings and through individual physician contact.
• Chair treatment team meetings and continued stay reviews as indicated.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health, nursing, or related degree preferred.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization management, and/or case management preferred.
