About the position

The Case Manager for the Drug Court at Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court is responsible for providing comprehensive case management services specifically for female youth participants in the Drug Court program. This role involves monitoring the progress of youth in various environments, including home and school, and facilitating access to appropriate services to mitigate substance abuse risks. The Case Manager plays a crucial role in weekly court hearings and team meetings, presenting updates and evaluations of the youth's progress and treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing case management services for pre-adjudicated female youth involved with Drug Court and their families.
  • Re-evaluate services and treatment plans as needed.
  • Interview youth and families for program intake and eligibility.
  • Gather social history and relevant information for court presentations and service planning.
  • Monitor youth's functioning at home, school, and in the community.
  • Oversee implementation of incentives and impose graduated sanctions when necessary.
  • Develop case plans, provide screenings, and make appropriate referrals.
  • Attend weekly Drug Court treatment team meetings and court hearings.
  • Provide accurate reports and oral presentations at court hearings and team meetings.
  • Collect random urine screens following National Drug Court testing standards.
  • Confer with supervisor to evaluate case priorities and participate in consultations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Science or related field.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in case management or working with adolescents with co-occurring disorders.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and automobile insurance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adolescent growth and development, particularly related to substance abuse.
  • Knowledge of family dynamics and human behavior.
  • Skilled in brokering community resources and identifying appropriate resources.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in case management and interviewing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in working with adolescents with co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge of community resources for substance abuse treatment.
