About the position

Tetra Tech is seeking a Case Manager - Inventory Cost Recovery to join their Public Assistance team in a fully remote role. The position focuses on supporting insurance cost recovery efforts related to FEMA Public Assistance programs, particularly for Butte and El Dorado Counties in California. The role involves analyzing insurance claims, working with disaster survivors, and ensuring compliance with federal grant requirements while maintaining effective communication with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and review insurance data for duplication of benefits.
  • Work with disaster survivors to explain and implement FEMA PA Program requirements.
  • Make independent decisions regarding grant guidance and federal grant eligibility.
  • Perform business-related research to support client needs.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure effective Disaster Recovery Program delivery.
  • Eliminate potential duplications of benefits between Insurance Claims and Federal Disaster Assistance.
  • Maintain relationships with disaster survivors, insurance agency representatives, and peers.
  • Review insurance policies, statements of loss, and cost estimates.
  • Communicate duplication of benefits and associated documentation to relevant parties.
  • Maintain and track assigned cases in the data management information system.
  • Review project worksheets prepared by FEMA and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Respond quickly to managers and support project implementation efforts.
  • Handle sensitive disaster victim documentation and maintain financial tracking systems.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain discipline knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of related work experience with knowledge of federal grant programs, specifically FEMA or FHWA programs.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid analytical skills and strong organization skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Time management skills.
  • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and ability to learn project-specific systems.
