About the position

The Case Manager Job Placement Specialist is responsible for outreach and recruitment activities to support the UMOS National Farmworker Jobs Program. This role involves assessing participant eligibility, providing emergency assistance, and developing Employment Development Plans (EDPs) to help participants achieve self-sufficiency. The specialist will also coordinate with various stakeholders, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure compliance with program policies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform outreach and recruitment activities to support the UMOS National Farmworker Jobs Program grant plan.
  • Schedule and conduct participant applications/interviews to determine eligibility for the program and provide emergency assistance to MSFWs statewide.
  • Respond to phone/email/text contacts, schedule appointments, and provide program information to MSFWs.
  • Conduct assessments to identify barriers and needs, advise on job skills training resources, and create Employment Development Plans (EDPs).
  • Conduct job-readiness assessments and coordinate workshops, providing employment trend information.
  • Work with schools, employers, and training providers to ensure participant progress and attendance.
  • Document all contacts in the UMOS National Farmworker Jobs Program Application and maintain participant case files.
  • Analyze program-related legislation and recommend policy updates/changes.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct employer contacts to promote partnerships for full employment.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a Community Resource Directory for Farmworkers.
  • Develop statewide service provider community networks and conduct presentations with stakeholders.
  • Network with American Job Centers/One-Stops to keep abreast of local job openings and refer participants accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain contact with employers to create a statewide network for hiring program participants.
  • Initiate job referrals and coordinate to meet employers' needs.
  • Attend meetings, seminars, workshops, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or 2 years of post-secondary education in social science, human services, or related field.
  • At least 2 years' experience in case management (1 year of experience may be substituted with 1 year of education).
  • Able to communicate in both English and Spanish.
  • Must have a car, valid driver's license, and adequate auto insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365).
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal), customer service, and organization skills.
