About the position

The Case Manager for Refugee Resettlement at Catholic Charities Family and Community Services is responsible for providing intensive case management to newly-arrived refugee clients. This role involves ensuring that refugee families receive necessary resettlement services in compliance with national standards and agency principles, while fostering a trauma-informed care environment. The Case Manager collaborates with agency staff, volunteers, and external partners to facilitate access to essential services and support for refugee families.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure and document the timely provision of all resettlement services per federal standards.
  • Prepare friends and relatives of refugee families to assist in service delivery.
  • Provide airport reception services for newly arrived refugees.
  • Coordinate basic needs requirements such as food, clothing, and home furnishings.
  • Facilitate refugee placement in suitable housing.
  • Conduct intake, orientation, and assessment of newly arrived refugees.
  • Formulate service plans and coordinate all resettlement service provision.
  • Facilitate access to identified service providers in health, education, public benefits, and employment.
  • Conduct home visits and inspections to ensure client welfare and adequacy of services.
  • Secure payments to vendors and clients, maintaining individual client budgets.
  • Document services in client case logs and maintain individual case files.
  • Participate in program and agency initiatives aimed at quality improvement.
  • Attend weekly service coordination meetings and other relevant trainings.
  • Assist in preparation of routine reports and administrative tasks.
  • Participate in strategic planning and program improvement activities.
  • Pursue professional development related to job performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • At least one year of experience in the Human Services field or case management.
  • Valid and clean NYS Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with volunteers, refugees, and local service providers.
  • Ability to speak English and at least one additional language.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a competitive hourly wage of $20.50.
