About the position

The Case Manager (Social Worker Unaccompanied Children Program) at Justice For Our Neighbors North Central Texas is responsible for providing comprehensive case management services to unaccompanied children and their guardians. This role involves coordinating support services to ensure the children's educational, medical, and mental health needs are met while also overseeing their legal needs. The position emphasizes community outreach and the creation of opportunities for generosity and kindness among clients.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide comprehensive case management services to unaccompanied children and their guardians.
  • Ensure permanency plan is progressing in the best interest of each client.
  • Refer clients to community resources and participate in community outreach.
  • Assist guardians in creating opportunities for each client to experience generosity.
  • Communicate with key agencies such as the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) and USCIS as required.
  • Oversee assigned caseload involving the legal needs of unaccompanied children.
  • Compile and analyze programmatic statistical information for progress reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or other human service field of study (psychology, sociology, counseling, etc.)
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a residential child-care operation or as a case manager with the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
  • Two (2) years working under the direct supervision of child placement management staff.
  • Knowledge of Social Work ethics and principles.
  • Experience working with children, preferably unaccompanied minors.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Microsoft Word.

  • Ability to simultaneously handle a high-volume caseload with multiple deadlines.
