About the position

The Case Manager for the Young Adult Housing Program at Catholic Charities of Central Washington is dedicated to empowering youth aged 18-24 by providing essential resources and support to help them achieve independence. This role involves implementing program guidelines, offering rental assistance, and delivering intensive case management to ensure that young individuals can maintain stable housing and develop self-sufficiency skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services to program youth using a strengths-based approach and Trauma Informed Care techniques.
  • Conduct outreach activities to potential program youth and facilitate interviews for enrollment.
  • Implement the selection process to screen and enroll program youth.
  • Enter program youth into the homeless client management information system, meeting all deadlines.
  • Develop relationships with local landlords and housing authorities to secure housing opportunities for youth.
  • Plan and facilitate regular group events for youth, including budgeting and community building activities.
  • Teach independent living skills to support youth in achieving self-sufficiency.
  • Assist youth in reaching personal goals and monitor their housing status.
  • Provide financial literacy training to promote economic self-sufficiency.
  • Evaluate program youth's eligibility and compliance with policies.
  • Educate youth on tenant/landlord rights and responsibilities.
  • Provide timely rental assistance payments to vendors on behalf of youth.
  • Coordinate services with other staff within Youth Services for a cohesive service delivery.
  • Participate in relevant trainings and supervision.
  • Attend local homeless coalition meetings and support program offerings in Youth Services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Service is required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working with adolescents is required.
  • Understanding and ability to work with youth ages 18-24.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Organizational ability with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and provide structured guidance to help youth reach long-term goals.
  • Conflict resolution and group facilitation skills.
  • Interest in working both individually and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and agency minimum required liability insurance.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Social Service from an accredited college or university.
