About the position

The Case Manager at GEO Secure Services plays a crucial role in providing counseling and support to detainees at the Aurora ICE Processing Center. This position focuses on helping detainees adjust to facility life, ensuring they receive necessary services, and implementing programs tailored to their individual needs. The Case Manager is responsible for conducting orientations, providing individual counseling, and monitoring detainee progress within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Interview newly admitted detainees.
  • Conduct facility orientation for newly assigned detainees, explaining rules, available services, and the disciplinary process.
  • Provide individual counseling to detainees regarding work, housing assignments, adjustment problems, and family issues.
  • Resolve day-to-day problems with counseling and refer serious issues to professional counseling staff.
  • Assist detainees in obtaining needed services and represent them at classification committee meetings.
  • Monitor detainee custody, housing, job, and program assignments to ensure timely reviews.
  • Conduct visits to detainees in special housing.
  • Review detainee medical status to determine eligibility for volunteer job assignments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, sociology, or related field preferred.
  • One year of caseload management experience in a correctional setting required or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Certified law enforcement officer experience or correctional/detention experience preferred.
  • Must possess an active, valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least twenty-one years of age or older.
  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Must have resided within the United States or its Territories for three or more years out of the last five.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in counseling or social work.
  • Bilingual skills.
